Come
to me, all you who labour and are over-burdened
and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for
your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light" (Mt 11,
18-30).
The Daughters of the Sacred
Heart have a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This devotion
flows from the deeply founded belief in Christ's love for humankind. The
sisters strive to be true and loving Daughters of the Heart of Christ.
Following the example of their Mother Foundress, they allow themselves to
be led by Christ's words: "No one can have greater love than to lay
down his/her life for his/her friends." (Jn 15, 13) Being assured of God's love for them, they in
turn are enkindled with gentle and loving response to this loving
Heart of Jesus. They atone for the ingratitude and the insults which
the Sacred Heart of Jesus receives from people and even from
those consecrated to Him.
Burning with zeal for the Sacred
Heart of Jesus, the sisters aspire to identify themselves with him by means
of dynamic and creative manifestations of love expressed through mortification and prayer.
In all their Apostolate, the
Daughters of the Sacred Heart are messengers of God's love
for humankind. They strive to love those whom God in His love has
entrusted to their care. To spread the devotion of the Sacred Heart the sisters consciously include God's love in their dialogue
and distribute religious articles particular to the Sacred Heart.
They entrust to His Heart those who approach them with troubles and
difficulties. A true daughter of the Sacred Heart always takes keen
interest to encourage families to pray and consecrate themselves to His
Sacred Heart.
